Awareness camp on sanitation and drinking water held

Goalpara, March 21: As a part of the District Water and Sanitation Committee, under the Public Health Engineering department in Goalpara, an awareness camp had been organized among the students of Agia Balijani Girls’ High School, Goalpara recently.

More than 200 students took part in the camp, as well as members of several NGOs in Agia. The camp had been organized in keeping with the tiol Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Week which was formally iugarated at the Officer Club, Goalpara by JVN Subramaniam, Deputy Commisioner of Goalpara district, and Pankaj Baruah, Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department.

As a part of this programme, the Balija Gram Panchayat had also organized a street drama and an awareness campaign. In this programme, the Village Water and Sanitation Committee members Ajay Das and Ramdeva Mahanta spoke about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
