Awareness meeting on 'child lifters' mece held in Rangia, Kamalpur

Rangia, June 6: Keeping in view the recent incidents related to sweeping man, child lifters (sopadhara), and ghosts in lower Assam, including Rangia subdivision, the subdivisiol administration of Rangia organized an awareness programme in both Rangia and Kamalpur under Rangia subdivision.

Kailash Kartikh N, SDO Civil, Rangia, Prab Kumar Pegu, SDPO Rangia, OC Jagar Singh, Seema Baishya, chairperson of Rangia Municipal Board, Sikha Saikia, SDIPRO and other dignitaries were present in the awareness programme held at Rangia Krishak Bhavan on Monday. SDO civil Kartikh in his speech urged people not to believe the rumours related to sweeping man, child lifters and ghosts and other superstitions. He also appealed to the public not to take law in their hands. He also assured people to extend all kind of help in such situations. Administration will take strict action if any case of violence and harassing innocent people was found, he warned.

He also requested all the gaonburahs to arrange awareness meetings regarding this and try their best to maintain peace and harmony among in their respective areas.
