Awareness programmes on PMAY held

Donkamokam, June 19: The awareness campaign on Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yoja – Gramin (PMAY) was held on Sunday in different MAC constituencies under Rongkhang Development Block Donkamokam in West Karbi Anglong district.

Through this scheme, a BPL family will be allotted a house of two rooms, including a sanitary latrine.   The ID for the beneficiaries will be obtained as per the Economic Census 2011 and soon joined photos of the husband and wife will be collected. The resource persons warned that if any unfair means is used to get mes enlisted in the list of beneficiaries, the erring individuals would have to pay pelty. At Telehor under Hamren MAC constituency, BDO Shashikanta Timung along with VDC chairman Birensing Tisso took part while in Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency, VDC chairman Harmon Rongpi along with Gram Sevak, G Barman took part in the awareness programme. Under Rongkhang MAC constituency it was held at Satgaon and the programme was chaired by VDC chairman ME Kathar.
