AYP stages protest against price rise of essential commodities

Dibrugarh, November 18:  The District Committee of Asom Yuba Parishad (AYP) staged a dhar, in front of Sadar Tha, here on Wednesday, to protest against the unprecedented rise in prices of essential food commodities, which has burdened the common man with immense hardship and tribulations.

The AYP members under the leadership of its president Sunil Rajkonwar, even burnt the effigies of PM rendra Modi and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, condemning their indifference to the sky rocketing price hike of essential food items like pulses. They vehemently protested the Central Government’s failure to curb the prices of petrol and diesel prices which has increased the inflation rate to the maximum level.

The AYP president urged the BJP party at the Centre to take immediate steps for reviewing the steps needed to be taken for curbing down the prices of oil and food items. Rajkonwar further stated that their organization, would stage similar protests in the coming days, if nothing was done to stop the mece of price rise in the country.
