Basketball Association of Assam to Host Inter School Basketball Meet in August at Guwahati, Assam

GUWAHATI, July 20: Basketball Association of Assam (BAA) will organize 1st All Assam Inter School Prize Money Basketball Championship from August 24. The three-day competition would be held at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.

Disclosing the news to the media the general secretary of the Basketball Association of Assam Mukut Medhai said,“ The competition is open for all schools of the state. The winners and runners up team of this competition will represent Assam in the forthcoming North East School Basketball Championship which is scheduled to be held in Shillong from October 21-24.”

Meanwhile, the 15-day summer coaching camp, organized by the Basketball Association of Assam, is concluded today at the RG Baruah Sports complex. NIS coach D S Rathee imparted the training in the camp. Addressing the media gathering Rathee said,” There is good talent in this game. However facilities here need to be upgraded.”

The president of the Basketball Association of Assam Pulak Goswami was also present in the media briefing. In a brief speech he appealed to the state government to take step to reduce the rent of basketball court at the RG Baruah Sports complex.
