Badminton meet kicks off

GUWAHATI, Dec 5: Indian Audit & Accounts Department, East Zone Badminton Tourment got under way today at the Kaklata Indoor Stadium in the city on Monday. The opening ceremony of the meet was attended by Mrigen Sarania, the Mayor of Guwahati, as a Chief Guest. Rajib Sharma, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India (retd), Pinuel Basumatary, State Information Commissioner and Deepak rain, Accountant General (Audit) was present as guest of honour.

Result: Mens Veterans: 1st semi fil- Bijoy Barman (Assam) beat Dashrat Mohanti of (Odisha) by 2-0. Second Semifil-Rajen (North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur) beat Samir Das (West Bengal) by 2-0.

Mens Team Event: 1st semi fil- Assam beat Bihar in Semi Fil 3-0. 2ndsemi fil-Odisha beat Eastern Railway, Kolkata 3-0.
