Badminton tourment gets underway at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 21: For the first time in Kokrajhar, the 129 Bn. CRPF has organized Security Forces’ Badminton Tourment which gets underway from today at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) indoor stadium. BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare, Doneswar Goyary iugurated the badminton tourment in presence of dignitaries from CRPF, SSB and district administration.

Altogether eight team from different security forces joined the tourment. The team includes-129th Bn.CRPF, 7 APBn., CISF, Salakati, 48th Bn. CRPF, 210 COBRA, Assam Police, 6th Bn. SSB and 31st Bn. SSB.

The CO of the 129 Bn.CRPF-E. Ramesh said it was the first time that the battalion organized the security forces’ badminton tourment where eight teams from different security forces have joined. He said it was a privilege for the security forces to show its skill and strength as well as enhancing the relations with the public. He also said that they could go beyond security forces from next year if the response is good.

The iugural programme was also attended by the IGP, BTC-Anurag Agrawal, DC-Bibekanda Choudhury, SP-Rajen Singh, ADC-Bhaskar Das, Commandant of 7th APBn. MM Boro, CO of 48th Bn. CRPF-Balraj Singh, Chairman of Kokrajhar Municipal Board-Bishnu rzary and president of Kokrajhar District Badminton Association Ghasyam Basumatary.
