Ban on use of high volume sound system during exams demanded

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat Regional Students’ Union submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Golaghat on Thursday to demand that high volume sound system should not be used in marriage halls in Golaghat town during examination.

In a press statement, the president and secretary of Golaghat Regional Students’ Union, Angsuman Baruah and Biswajit Gogoi respectively, said that most of the marriage halls in Golaghat town use high volume sound system and burst fire crackers during marriage functions. They said that marriage halls should be stopped from doing so during exam time in the interest of the students who are appearing for the HSLC, HS and High Madrassa exam this year.

On Thursday, a team of comprising Golaghat subdivision students’ union president Jodumoni Gogoi, secretary Dipak Gogoi, Golaghat Regional Students’ Union vice-president Sanjib Kalita and assistant secretary Simanta Gogoi visited the DC and SP of Golaghat and demanded ban on use of loud volume sound system during examination.
