Bandh hits normal life in Demow

DEMOW, July 14:  The All Assam Bengali Youth Federation (AABYF) called a 12-hour Assam bandh on Tuesday in protest against BJP President Amit Shah's visit to Assam and also against the non-fulfilment of the promises made by the BJP before the Lok Sabha election, and the delay in proclaiming Bengali Hindus as permanent citizens. All shops, educatiol institutions, and banks remained closed and normal life was paralyzed. In the morning,  AABYF activists burn tyres in NH-37 road and said that the mes of Hindu Bengali people should be included in the tiol Registrar of Citizens (NRC)  and the deadline for the submission of  NRC forms should be extended.
