Bangladeshi couple apprehended

Mangaldai, June 4: The border branch of  Dalgaon Police Station in Darrang on Saturday evening apprehended two Bangladeshi tiols from a shelter at village Borkur under the police station.

According to police, the husband wife have been identified as Mostaffa Ali  (46) and Morzi Begam (37), both residents of Janiaghat area in Sherpur district of Bangladesh who had illegally entered into Dhubri district through the India-Bangladesh intertiol border with the help of a section of cattle traders. The cattle smugglers allegedly collected an amount of Rs 1,000 each from the intruders to help them in entering Assam. A case has been registered in this regard under 14 Foreigners Act r/w 6(a) and the arrested couple was produced before the court on Sunday, said police.
