He said that the forum will be attended by BHF co-founder Tej Hazarika, son of Dr Bhupen Hazarika.

“Renowned as a popular singer, songwriter, artist, educationist and film-maker from Assam, Dr Bhupen Hazarika was also a peacemaker during times of conflict. His accomplishments in this area are in the public record. Whereas he appreciated the astonishing diversity within the country as one of its greatest assets, he was acutely aware of the great need for people to cultivate a respectful reverence for human values and difference in order to create a more equitable and happier society.”

Dipanka Hazarika said that one of the chief objectives of BHF is to promote research and discussion on his views.

“We will also consider the validity today of some of his earlier academic recommendations for the education of India’s masses through the medium of audio-visual education. By translating his works into some leading languages, we hope to expose more people to Dr Hazarika’s non-sectarian, sane legacy for India,” Hazarika added.
