Basanti Puja celebration in Demow

DEMOW, April 12: Basanti Puja is celebrated with religious fervour and devotion in Demow for four days every year. On Tuesday the idols was brought to the mandaps and after that the bel baran was done.

On Wednesday the Maha Saptami Puja will be done where people will come and offer prayers and light lamps. On Thursday Maha Ostami Puja will be done, and on Friday Maha bami Puja will be done. On Saturday during Dashami Puja, women will play with vermillion  and after that the idols will be drowned in the river.
