BCPL refutes allegation of graft in recruitment process

DIBRUGARH, April 7: The Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited’s (BCPL) authority has denied corruption in any level of magement, including recruitment.

“We clarify that all recruitment in BCPL are held as per the Recruitment Rules of the company as well as directives of President of India on reservation policy and guidelines,” the BCPL magement stated.

Saying in unequivocal terms that a section of vested interest was making a fuss by claiming that some of the employees of the company were practicing various corrupt acts, including in the process of recruitment, the magement in a press communiqué denied the allegation by reiterating that none of the employees of the company demand or receive any graft either in cash or other form against any recruitment or other matter of the company.  

The communiqué’ further clarified that as on today 65.50 per cent of total employees (executives and non-executives) were either from Assam or north-eastern States.

So far as recruitment of non-executives in BCPL was concerned, the BCPL authority stated that the vacancies were usually notified in the Local Employment Exchange as well as in the regiol newspapers of Assam.  Written Test/Physical Endurance Test/Trade Test are held according to the company’s terms of regulations and the result of written test, E.-marks obtained by the candidates are also posted in the website of the company as a matter of transparency in the recruitment system. Based on the performance in the written test, candidates are called for persol interview in a certain ratio (1:5/7).

 “If anybody has got any specific information regarding receipt of bribe in cash or kind by BCPL employees, they should bring it to the notice of the Chief Vigilance Officer of BCPL,” the BCPL magement said. The magement added that due to certain technical error, call letters were idvertently issued to some candidates who were not shortlisted as per merit list, along with the shortlisted candidates, for the post of Foreman (Electrical) trainee.
