Be partners in State building: Kiren Rijiju

Our correspondent

Itanagar, April 23: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday exhorted the people of Arunachal Pradesh to be partners in building the State by contributing towards the developmental process.
Inaugurating the Cadence 2018, the 12th edition of the inter-college youth festival at Rajiv Gandhi University near here, the Minister of State for Home Affairs said, “A State doesn’t develop on its own. And for Arunachal to grow too, each citizen has to contribute towards the process of State and nation building.”
Rijiju further expressed that with the changing times, society has become more integrated and with the advent of the internet and social media, the communication process has become more democratic.
“Earlier, the State was deprived of proper roads and connectivity. Life was very difficult in those times. Yet, there was a sense of belongingness and unity among people. Now, people have distanced themselves from one another in the name of different cultures, tribes, religion etc,” he added.
Rijiju said that the youth should play a pivotal role in creating a sense of unity and responsibility among people towards the development of the State.
He called upon the students to participate in such festivals so that the sense of unity could be felt in true sense.
