Better facilities demanded at Tangla railway station

Dimakuchi, Feb 7: Tangla railway station located at Tangla town of Udalguri district in Assam has many burning issues for which All Assam Bengali Youth Federation and All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) submitted a memorandum on various issues to the General Mager (N.E.F.R.)

The organizations in the memorandum described the problematic conditions of Tangla railway station, mentioning that there was a need for separate railway ticket counter for senior citizens, separate male and female waiting rooms, well-maintence of urils and toilets in the station campus, 24-hour railway police protection force and Wi-Fi facility. They also demanded for stoppage of all kinds of speedy and special trains at Tangla railway station. Everyday nearly 40 per cent railway passengers travel by Rangia-Murkhongshelek Express and so the platforms need to be increased. The organizations also recommended for the construction of a railway hospital and a child care centre at the station campus. The General Mager, NEFR gave word to both that the issues would soon be resolved.
