Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forms Nagaon Zila Parishad

NAGAON: The ruling BJP in a tacit way captured the Nagaon Zila Parishad independently after falling short of three seats for an absolute majority to form the Zila Parishad. In a meeting held on Thursday at the DC’s conference hall, BJP candidate Moonmoni Das Bora, elected from Pub-Thuria ZPC seat in Koliabor constituency, was elected as the president of Nagaon Zila Parishad without any contest as the post is reserved for a female candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC).
