Bharatiya Janata Party created history in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU: The Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has created a history by captuing 23 seats out of 26 MAC seats in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council( KAAC) election on Thursday in both Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts. This is the first time in the history of the hill districts that the BJP has captured KAAC with the largest-ever majority.
On the other hand, Congress and AGP could not open their account and even the people rejected the idea of autonomous state of HSDC, the regiol political party of the districts.
The BJP candidates who won the KAAC election are Prabhat Taro who defeated his nearest rival Dhaniram Engleng by a margin of 2049 votes, Horen Bey who defeated his nearest rival Sing Teron by a margin of 2193 votes, Pradip Rongpi who defeated Rupsing Bongrung by a margin of 218 votes, Rupsing Teron who defeated his nearest rival by a margin of 76 votes, Mongal Sing Timung who defeated Mohan Engti by a margin of 2151 votes, Tuliram Ronghang who defeated Bajong Tisso of Congress by a margin of 8578 votes, Pawan Kumar who defeated Dhonsing Dera by a margin of 7806 votes, Ri Terangpi who defeated Alice Engtipi by a margin of 1957 votes, Ramsing Timung who defeated Phuding Terang by a margin of 5687 votes, Dorsing Ronghang who defeated Sanjib Teron by a margin of 352 votes, Tarendra Brahmo won by a huge margin of 9562 votes over his nearest rival Rajendra Basumatary, Lunsing Teron who defeated Bidya sing Rongpi by a margin of 1608 votes, Kache Rongpipi who defeated Mohan Bey by a margin of 298 votes, Amor Tisso who defeated Pradip Sigr by a margin of 2409 votes, Jagat Engti who defeated Kadom Terangpi by a margin of 107 votes, Pabitra Rongpi who defeated Khagen Terang by a margin of 60 votes, Madhurya Dhekiyal Phookan who defeated Jivan Chandra Pathak by a margin of 5778 votes, BJP district President Raton Teron who defeated Tingkreng Rongpi by a margin of 6494 votes, Ritesh Enghee who defeated Ashok Teron by a margin of 1370 votes other BJP candidates who won the election are Khonsing Rongpi, Lonki Timung and Raju Tisso the three independent candidates who won the election are Surya Rongphar, Richard Tokbi and D. Uphing Maslai.
