Bhopal Shamer: Founder of Shelter Home for Disabled Kids Accused of Sexual Abuse; Congress latches to Opportunity

Bhopal: In yet another shameful act of sexual abuse on homeless and orphan minors, sensation stirred up Bhopal after the inmates of a privately run shelter for disabled children alleged of sexual abuse by its founder himself.

Clinging on to this major issue, the opposition party Congress made a ruckus by latching itself to the allegation that government authorities had ignored a complaint filed in the past against the shelter home's founder who is also its director.

Reportedly, the alleged victims and other inmates of the children’s home located in the Bairagarh area of Bhopal, submitted a complaint to police Friday evening.

Meanwhile, the Bhopal Police have received a complaint of sexual abuse and a probe is being conducted. No FIR has been registered yet.

These privately run children shelter also had a branch in Hoshangabad district until last year.

Sources informed that nearly 40 inmates of the shelter home visited the Congress office in Bhopal, where the party's state media cell chief Shobha Oza held a press conference.

Condemning the heinous act, Shobha Oza said, "A girl had complained about sexual harassment by the director to the Hoshangabad collector in February 2017. The complaint was found to be correct but no FIR was registered."

She went on saying that the said children’s home had repeated complaints of such nature where another physically challenged girl and three boys were allegedly sexually abused by the director.

On Friday, the victims and inmates of the shelter home registered their complaint with the Director of the Social Justice Department of the state government.

Following the step taken by the victims, Congress leaders reached the TT Nagar Police Station to file a complaint over the same issue.

Speaking over the issue to Media Persons, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bhopal, Dharmendra Choudhary said that the department have received the complaint, and an investigation is being initiated.

However, another police officer claimed that no FIR has been registered yet.
