Biennial conference of Khourang AAGSU concludes

UDALGURI, June 11:  The 17th biennial conference of Khaurang Anchalik committee of All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) concluded here with an appeal to maintain peace and harmony in the region.  The meeting was begin with the flag march by AAGSU volunteers and followed by hoisting of flag by Sanchaman Subba, the president of Khaurang Anchalik AAGSU. A tribute to the martyrs was paid by Nirmal Sirpali, general secretary of Khaurang AAGSU, tree plantation was done by Mahanda Sarma and the delegate session was iugurated by Shiva Bhattarai. The delegates of AAGSU selected Nirmal Sirpali as president and Rishi Upadhyaya as general secretary for the new session.   The second day’s proramme began with a Nepali song sung by local artistes. The open session was presided over by Sanchaman Subba, the president of Khaurang Anchalik committee AAGSU and iugurated by Rohit Dahal. Ganga Poudel, the vice-chairman of Gorkha Unyan Parishad, Assam, Kamal Subba, executive member of AAGSU, among others addressed the meeting.
