DHUBRI, July 7: In a bid to establish man-to-man contact with people living in the Bilasipara (East) assembly constituency, BJP legislator Ashok Kumar Singhi has been moving around his constituency and interacting with people since the last two days. In his first move, he visited Alengamari village under Bilasipara circle and held discussion with famers and took stock of the agriculture activities. Singhi also sowed the sali paddy with his legs deep in muddy water in the field with the farmers. Singhi later assured the farmers all assistance from government to enhance the agriculture productivity and Minimum Support Price (MSP) of their produce. “Beside this, all the village roads and roads connecting national highway will be constructed soon. You feel free to come to me and tell me agriculture related problems. I shall try my best to get them solved,” Singhi assured. Singhi also met several street vendors, cobblers and wayside eateries and petty traders of Bilasipara town and interacted with them on Saturday. He gifted an umbrella each to them as it was extremely difficult to sit under the scorching heat and do business. During Singhi’s campaign of man-to-man contact, BJP state committee leader Prafulla Kalita and other leaders of the party accompanied him.
