Bio-sand filters distribution on Episcopal Day celebration

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 7: The Believers’ Church, Diocese of Bongaigaon observed the special day of Episcopal on Monday at Maio Nwgwr, Bongaigaon. The Episcopal day is a very historic day for the Church in several endeavours, mely building spiritual ethos and serving people in their need. The Bishop of the Diocese Dr. Juria Bardhan prayed and advised the Church to take all possible steps in building the tion.

On this auspicious occasion, the Church distributed 50 bio-sand water filters at Maio Nwgwr, the Diocese office. Distributing the bio-sand water filters, Rev. Fr. Ajay Tulsiary, the Vicar General of the Diocese said, “A study done by WHO in India states that approximately 400,000 to 500,000 children under the age of five die due to water-borne diseases. So to provide pure and arsenic-free water, the Church has started this Bio Sand Project as part of the Church Community Development programme.”

At the event, Rev. Fr. Dhajay Nokman, Rev.Fr. Soma Kinduar, Rev.Fr. Angra rzary, Dn. Balendra Basumatary, Parish Priests, Sisters and beneficiaries from Maio Nwgwr, Gwjwnpuri, Chapaguri, Daligaon were present.
