BJP accuses Congress of creating law and order situation

Itagar, Dec 19: The Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) Aruchal Pradesh committee has accused the ruling Congress government of creating law and order situation in complete defiance of Governor’s summon for legislative assembly session and allegedly directing capital district administration to put Assembly gate under lock and key.

The BJP in a release today said that Congress party workers were instigated to disrupt vehicular movement on tiol Highway between harlagun and Itagar “just after the motion of the confident against Tuki government.”

Alleging the ruling Congress and its party workers of “engineering serious law and order,” the Party said that the blockade of tiol highway for several hours has resulted in death of an aged patient.  “The act and indulgence of the ruling Congress is against the democratic spirit and principles” BJP said.

Mithun was slaughtered at the entry gate of Raj Bhawan yesterday by the Congress workers, the BJP said adding that this act has breached the sanctity of the Raj Bhawan as well as the customs and conventions of the tribal people.

Claiming that senior ministers resorted to unruly behaviour during the meeting with Governor on December 15, the party also condemned it as unbecoming and unethical.

Reiterating its claim that political infighting within the ruling party halted development process, the BJP further said “the present government has been reduced to minority and in absence of any government, the Opposition moved impeachment of the Speaker within the democratic practices giving opportunity to prove the strength of the minority govt. which is nothing wrong.”
