BJP Assam Pradesh Planning For By-Election In Assembly

GUWAHATI: The BJP Assam Pradesh is now making strategy for contesting the by-elections in the Assembly constituencies to be vacated in the event of some of the sitting MLAs who contested the Lok Sabha poll coming out winner.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded four of its MLAs – Sonari MLA Topon Gogoi in Jorhat Lok Sabha seat, Nagaon MLA Rupak Sarma in Nagaon LS seat, Rangapara MLA Pallab Lochan Das in Tezpur LS seat and Ratabari MLA Kripanath Mallah in Karimganj LS seat – to contest the parliamentary election. The BPF, an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has also fielded Kokrajhar East MLA Pramila Rani Brahma in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency. If the Congress’ Jania MLA Abdul Khaleque comes out winner from Barpeta Lok Sabha seat, by-election will also be held for Jania also.

Now the BJP has started searching of prospective candidates for the Assembly by-elections.
