ITANAGAR: BJP candidate of Nyapin Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh, Bamang Felix on Friday termed all the allegations framed by the APCC president Takam Sanjoy of booth capturing, kidnapping and assault during the poll process on April 11 by the BJP in different constituencies as baseless and having no iota of truth.

Addressing media persons here at the Arunachal Press Club, Felix said that the allegations levelled by the APCC president is baseless and is a move borne out of frustration as the people of the State have rejected the Congress party.

“Being the oldest party of the country, Congress in the State (Arunachal Pradesh) could not even field candidates in all the Assembly seats. This could be a desperate move by the APCC president to appease the higher-ups in New Delhi by alleging that the BJP is resorting to booth capturing and violence during the polls,” Felix said. He accused that the APCC chief of being rattled over the fear of facing defeat in the general elections.

Retaliating against the Congress party, Felix informed that on the April 1, when he was on the way to Nyapin for election campaign, a group of 40 APCC workers carrying daos, hammers, stopped him, and pulled him out of his vehicle. “Thanks to my PSO who intervened timely and safely evacuated me from the spot,” said Felix. Felix criticized the Congress of stooping to the level of questioning the credibility of the BJP and said that all the illegal activities were done by the Congress to disturb the peaceful polling, not by him or his party workers.
