BJP-Congress will be destroyed in Assembly election: Mahanta

BONGAIGAON, March15:  “In the upcoming Legislative Assembly polls in Assam, people will reject both the BJP and the Congress as they are fed up with the unfulfilled promises of the BJP. As for the Congress, there is nothing to say. The party’s corrupt image will destroy it,” said Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta during a party workers’ meeting held at the Manikpur auditorium hall in Bongaigaon district on Sunday.

He said that in last parliamentary election, people voted for the BJP presuming it as a substitute for the Congress party. “But the BJP too is showing the same character. Hence both BJP and Congress will be destroyed in upcoming legislative assembly election in Assam,” he said.

In the meeting several AGP MLAs like Padma Hazarika, Phani Bhusan Choudhury, Keshab Mahanta, Utpal  Dutta and Bhupen Ray were present. It was presided over by Bhupen Ray.

With this meeting the AGP has started its preparation for the legislative assembly election. Before the meeting, a bike rally was taken out from Tulungiya area in Bongaigaon district to Manikpur.
