BJP councillors involved in 'pension scam,' says AAP

New Delhi, July 14: BJP municipal councillors in Delhi have been allowing ineligible people to receive pensions for the last 10 years, a scam that should be probed by the CBI, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Thursday. AAP’s Delhi convener Dilip Pandey said here he has written to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, demanding a CBI probe into the “pension scam”. “For past 10 years BJP councillors have been involved in a pension scam by awarding old-age pension or disability pension to ineligible people,” Pandey said.

He said Shobha Vijender, who is an elected member of North Delhi Municipal Corporation and is wife of Leader of Opposition in Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta, is also involved in the scam. “BJP councillor from Palam, Pawan Rathi, awarded over 600 such pensions to wrong people. In ngloi, an eight-year-old who is a relative of the local BJP councillor, was receiving old-age-pension,” Pandey said. (IANS)
