BJP expresses hope about Mizoram assembly election; looking for Cong wipe-out

The BJP said that it is looking for to seize power in Mizoram by defeating its prime rival the Indian National Congress in the upcoming assembly elections which will be held in few months’ time.

Mizoram is the last Congress stronghold in North East India. The Congress government led by CM Lal Thanhawla has been in power in the state since 2008, and is eying for to win the upcoming assembly polls for the third time.

Prabari Pawan Sharma the BJP in-charge of Mizoram while addressing a meeting at the party office said that he witnessed the rapid progress of BJP in Mizoram seeing that he was hopeful that the party would come to power. Sharma expressed that the party would be able to win election without forming an alliance with any political party if it continues to grow like the current state.

It is worth mentioning that the BJP has launched booth level campaigns to make the party stronger since August last.

Sharma incited the party workers to endeavor to strengthen the party. He believed that like this there is no reason for the BJP to lose the elections if its activists put hard work right from the booth level.

He alluded to the rapid progress of the BJP in the country, as it had initially begun with 10 members but now it has over 11 crore members across the country.

State BJP president J.V. Hluna also speaking on the occasion said party president Amit Shah will visit Mizoram in October and he will meet the party leaders and open the party office.

Hluna also holding the same opinion said the party is well prepared for the polls and it would come to power in Mizoram by sweeping out the Congress, which has been ruling the state since 2008.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli on Sunday told reporters in Shillong, "Development is our agenda. In six states, we have gone to the people with that agenda and in Mizoram also we will follow the same principle."
