'BJP has betrayed Koch Rajbongshis',says All Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) General Secretary Gokul Barman

Bongaigaon: The All Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) has appealed to all Koch Rajbongshi people not to cast votes for the BJP in the upcoming panchayat election. At a press meet held at Bongaigaon on Monday, AKRSU general secretary Gokul Barman said that the BJP party has betrayed the Koch Rajbongshi people. "This party never showed any interest in solving our burning problems like ST categorization of Koch Rajbongshi community and formation of separate Kamatapur state. Hence we decided to act against BJP the party this time in the panchayat election. We appeal to all Koch Rajbongshi people to cast their vote against the BJP in the panchayat election," he said.

AKRSU also declared an agitation schedule for the coming days. "According to the schedule, we will burn effigy of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister in every district on November 14. A mass meeting in Guwahati will be conducted on November 20 and bike rally will be taken out in every district on November 22. We will observe indefinite national highway blockade from December 11. If our demands are not fulfilled immediately, we will stage a massive agitation in coming days," Barman said.
