BJP intensifies organizational activities in Tripura

Agartala, June 24 : BJP Mahamantri (general secretary) in-charge of Northeast Ajay Jamwal has arrived here on Saturday to review the progress of the party’s organizational activities in the state and held a meeting with the party office bearers and core committee members.

He also held another meeting today where all the district and mandal presidents and bistaraks were present. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who, is also the state president of the party, were present in both the meetings.

Pratima Bhaumik, general secretary of the BJP state committee described the visit as routine and said he is reviewing the organizational activities in the State and is giving advice wherever shortcomings are there.

However, sources in the party said Jamwal stressed especially over revitalizing the party organization in the ground level keeping eye on the forthcoming assembly election. BJP is preparing to contest both the Lok Sabha seats from Tripura and Jamwal told the party workers that no stone should remain unturned to ensure the victory of the party candidates in both the seats. Jamwal also enquired about the success of the Jana Samparka program when each of the party leaders and office bearers were suppose to contact at least 25 persons in the society. Jamwal himself visited houses of few eminent persons on Sunday.

Pratime Bhaumik said the former union minister Sahanawaj Hussain is scheduled to visit the state on June 26 in connection with the party’s ongoing program to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government during last four years. Hussain will address a press conference here.
