BJP Seeks Report Cards From Booth In-Charges

GUWAHATI: With the completion of the three phases of polls in the state on April 8, 18 and 23, major parties BJP and Congress both claimed that the results will be a guaranteed a win. During this year’s Lok Sabha poll, the BJP singularly contested in 10 seats while alliance partners AGP and BPF contested in 3 and 1 seat respectively. The BJP party Chief Minister and MLAs have claimed that their party will triumph in 9 to 10 seats. According to sources, the party is conducting an internal survey at the grass-root level with Trinamool workers to assess their own assertions. According to a party source, the Prishtapramukh (page in-charge) and booth in-charge have been instructed to submit a report card to better analyze and assess the outcome of the polls. Moreover, right after the Panchayat elections, the BJP party appointed a Prishtapramukh and booth in-charge in every constituency area in the state. Every Prishtapramukh was given the responsibility of 10 to 25 voters, where every booth contained 800 to 1200 names. There were a total of 28143 booths in the state.
