BJP takes out massive victory march in Silchar

Silchar, May 20: Dilip Kumar Paul, who has emerged victorious after the declaration of results of the assembly election, took out a victory procession here, today. The procession started at around 11:30 in the morning from the party office at Itkhola. A large number of party workers, supporters and people took part in the procession that reflected people’s enthusiasm after getting a non-Congress MLA. People from every nook and corner of the town came out of their houses to see the man of the moment – Dilip Kumar Paul.

Dilip Kumar Paul was seated on the top of a vehicle which was mounted by his close associates and security guards. The vehicle was decorated with garlands. People smeared each other with colours and it seemed that once again people were celebrating the festival of colour, Holi. A long rally of motorcycles and pedestrians were taken out along with various cultural artistes who were seen performing tradition dance, dhamail. Women from age-groups also showered their love upon the MLA as they came out in large numbers.

Even young students of schools and colleges were seen taking photographs and clicking selfies. The procession which stared from the party office covered the main spots of the town. It arrived at Premtala point, Central road where a large number of people were seen bursting crackers. Some auto-rickshaws were playing parody songs whose lyrics that have been altered, praised BJP government, from Prime Minister rendra Modi to Sarbanda Sonowal. Dilip Kumar Paul, however, maintained a humble demeanour. At every point of time, he was seen folding and waving hands at the people who have crowded the streets.

People reciprocated his gesture by waving hands. Popular Hindi songs were being played on the speakers. People were dancing on the tunes of these foot-tapping numbers. Paul was accompanied with other frontline leaders like Nitya Bhushan Dey, Bimalendu Roy and Partha Sarathi Chanda in the victory procession. What made the procession representative was that people from all walks of life came out to welcome Dilip Paul by waving their hands.

Slogans and songs celebrating BJP’s victory and Dilip Paul’s achievement, ranted the sky. The victory procession after moving through the main streets of this town converged at the party office. Along with the state, people of this valley are now hoping for ‘achche din’. The emphatic win of BJP has triggered the minds of the people with hopes and aspirations of good governce as well as eradication of agonies and sufferings.
