SHILLONG, Feb 7: The Bharatiya Jata Yuva Morcha (BJP Youth Wing) Meghalaya alleged that the Meghalaya government has failed to comply with the provision of 3 percent job quota as per the Right of Person with Disability Act, 1995.

“The state government has failed to comply with the provision of 3 percent job quota as per the 1995 Act, which was recently increased by the parliament to 4 percent as per the  new bill ‘Right of Person with Disability Bill’ 2016 passed in the parliament,” Egenstar Kurkalang, State President, BJYM said here on Tuesday.

“We had received complaint that some educatiol institutions in the State declined to give them (PWDs) admission in Schools and Colleges for furthers studies. Which ultimately force them to approach to their leaders of Disable person to get admission,” he said.

He said the BJYM will follow up this matter to pressurize the government to release all the dues to them within a short time period.
