Bodo writer Dhanuram Basumatary receives literary award

UDALGURI: Dhanuram Basumatary, the dynamic Bodo short story writer of Rowta Fwthar, received the Mangalchandi Brahma Memorial Literary Award. The award was conferred by Pratul Kumar Bhobora, former Deputy Inspector of Schools, during the golden jubilee celebration of Udalguri district Bodo Sahitya Sabha held at Ambagaon.

Dhanuram Basumatary was born on January 1, 1973 at Rowta. He did his post graduation in Bodo language and worked at Rowta College. He had published a book titled Bakhundani Gwdan Formula in 2005. He has been given the award for his second short story book titled Broiler Master. The award consists of a citation, endi chadar and cash Rs.5000.
