Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) condoles Litterateur Promod Chandra Bhattacharjya's demise

KOKRAJHAR: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma and the president of the ABSU, Promod Boro mourned the demise of prominent litterateur Promod Chandra Bhattacharjya who passed away on Monday at a private nursing home.

Mohilary, the deputy chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, Kampa Borgoyary, Executive Members, officers and staff of BTC Secretariat expressed grief and offered condolence to Bhattacharjya, an eminent scholar who had made immense contribution to Assamese and Bodo language and literature. The Additional Principal Secretary of BTC, Robinson Mashahary in an official letter expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for his eternal peace. Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma also expressed deep condolence. He said that Bhattacharya had made a lot of contribution to Bodo language and literature. ABSU president Promod Boro also expressed his condolence. Bhattacharya was conferred Bodofa UN Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award by the UN Brahma Trust.
