Body recovered in Kheroni

KHERONI, Feb 3: Sensation prevails over the alleged gruesome murder of a person in Kheroni area in West Karbi Anglong under Kheroni police station. The body of the deceased was found buried in a sugarcane field at Lsngsibu Gaon. According to police reports, the deceased has been identified as Raton Enghi (28) of Pub-Kandura in gaon district, son of Sarthe Enghi. He has two daughters. Raton Enghi, who lived in his father-in-law’s house at Rong-chingram village of Zerikinding since he got married, had been missing since January 29. Sources said that on January 29, Raton came to the Kheroni weekly market with his friend Rajesh Phangcho in a motorcycle bearing the number AS-09B 9249. After that, they went to Kar Teron’s house at Amtola in Kheroni around 5 pm. There Raton asked for Rajesh’s bike as he had to go to Chengbong to meet somebody. But till 6 pm when he did not come back, then Rajesh dialed his mobile number but it was switched off. Later his friend searched for him but could not find him. Filly yesterday evening, the body of Raton was found in a sugarcane field where it was buried. There were injury marks all over his body. The motorcycle and his mobile phone are yet to be recovered. No arrest has been made. Police investigation is on.
