JOYSAGAR: Anti-social elements and criminals are allegedly still active in the trains of Upper Assam and this has caused serious concern among people. More than five bodies were recovered within 20 days in the railway tracks in Upper Assam and it appeared that most of the deceased persons had been looted and then killed, claimed sources. But Railway Police and Assam Police have not been able to catch hold of even one suspect in connection with these alleged murders. On Saturday night, the body of an elderly passenger of Jorhat was recovered in the Bhojo station under Charaideo district. The deceased was identified as one Hari Prasad Agarwala (71). He was travelling to Jorhat but his body was recovered far away in Bhojo. Sources doubted that this might be another murder by miscreants but the authorities have not found any clue as yet. The frequent recovery of bodies in railway tracks and inside train compartments has created sensation among the local people and raised questions about the safety and security of railway passengers.
