Books Released On Uma Sarma’s Birth Centenary

GUWAHATI: In sync with the birth centenary of writer and thinker Uma Sharma and its anniversary, Sadissa (Adda), a literary and cultural organization, observed the day. The Bhabani Kanta Chowdhury memorial lecture was also delivered on the occasion at Mirza Girls’ High School recently. During the event, Baat Buli Buli, the autobiography of Uma Sharma, Eyao Ek Itihakh by Tarini Kanta Baishya, Homoyor Kontheswar by Moina Goswami, Bhulu Jerihotor Kothare by Swapnali Saikia and Chintar Jilingoni by Kushal Kumar were released. While noted story writer Bipul Khatoniar delivered the lecture on ‘Pragatisheel Juddhwa Uma Sarmar Jibon Porokroma’, noted writer Samindra Hujuri delivered the lecture on ‘Motadorshogoto Sangramaot Uma Sarma aru Tekhetor Xahityakormo’.
