Both Rajya Sabha nominations of Birendra Prasad Baishya and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa found valid

GUWAHATI: The nominations papers of both Rajya Sabha candidates from Assam –Birendra Prasad Baishya of the AGP and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa of the BJP – were found valid during the scrutiny at the office of the Returning Officer at the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday. With this, the win of the two candidates is certain as there is no other contender. The results will be formally declared after 3 pm on May 31 when the last date of withdrawal of candidature will expire.
