Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) Demow Town Committee airs grievances of bus passengers

DEMOW: Under the leadership of Jadumoni Kalita, president, and Jaan Barua, acting secretary of Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) Demow Town Committee, a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar and Divisional Superintendent of Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) Sivasagar on August 7.

In the memorandum, the BAYM Demow Town Committee alleged that buses under ASTC plying from Sivasagar to Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Moran were giving a harrowing time to passengers who travel from Sivasagar to Demow. The passengers who travel from Sivasagar to Demow are not provided seats and often have to stand throughout the journey. Moreover, instead of providing seats to the pregnant women and students, the staff of the buses allegedly misbehave with the passengers. The BAYM Demow Town Committee has demanded redressal of grievances within 72 hours.
