Brown sugar worth Rs 12 lakh seized at Guwahati Railway Station

GUWAHATI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel on Sunday apprehended one identified as Anuwer (25) of Imphal East District, Manipur from platform number 1 of Guwahati Railway Station while he was about to board in the Kamrup Express train with 10 packets of brown sugar weighing 125 grams. Follow up actions are being initiated in this regard. According to a GRP source, the value of the seized contraband is assumed to be of around Rs 12,50,000. Meanwhile, a GRPs case (No-315/2018 u/s 21(b) NDPS Act) has been registered.
