BSC to hunt for State’s weightlifting talents

Itagar, Feb 6: Under the initiatives of the Aruchal Weightlifting Association, the officials from the Boys Sports Company (BSC), AOC centre of Secunderabad-based Indian Army is once again coming to the State for the third consecutive year for a two-day talent hunt programs in weightlifting discipline on February 24 and 25.

The interested parent or the guardians of the state who desire to send their children for coaching in weightlifting could send their kids during trials on the prescribed days at RG Stadium, harlagun, a communiqué informed here.

The age of the candidates should be in between 10-14 years and class v pass educatiol qualification. The candidates are required to bring with them birth certificate, ST, PRC and Vth passed provisiol school certificate.

Four young talents selected by BSC in 2015 and 2016 in weightlifting discipline include Bengia Tani, Markio Tapa, Tami Tame and Golom Tinku.

The officials from the AOC centre, visited only after constant pleas made by Aruchal Weightlifting Association for talent scouting programs in the State.

The BSC was established in joint venture with Sports Authority of India (SAI) would provide coaching, education, food, clothes and boarding.
