BSF ADG visits Barak Valley

SILCHAR, Feb 4: Ramesh Prasad Singh, Additiol DG of BSF, hqrs (Eastern Command), visited hqrs BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier on Tuesday. He was received by D K Upadhyaya, IG BSF, Mizoram and Cachar Frontier, along with other senior officers and a guard of honour was presented to him. He was briefed by D K Upadhyaya, IG, regarding operatiol and administrative issues. The Additiol DG BSF was on a three day visit here.

 Satish Budakoti, DIG, spokesperson, Frontier hqrs Mizoram and Cachar, said Ramesh Prasad Singh, IPS, is a 84th batch IPS Officer of Odisha cadre who took over the charge of Additiol Director General hqrs special DG (Eastern Command) Kolkata of the elite force on January 15, 2015. He has been decorated with police medal for meritorious service, President police medal for distinguished service and Governor medal of Government of Odisha.

 During his visit, Singh held a sainik sammelan and explained to the troops about benefits of dieting, physical exercises and regular drills on weapon handling and thereafter interacted with officers and troops during tea. He visited border out posts accompanied by D K Upadhyaya and other senior officers. He appreciated the hard work done by the troops in maintaining a very clean campus and expressed his satisfaction at the operatiol achievements. He further mentioned that BSF is doing a commendable job in effectively guarding the intertiol border and also taking up several welfare measures for overall improvement of the force.
