BSF foils cattle smuggling bid in Dhubri

DHUBRI, April 23: BSF troops seized 32 cattle heads in Dhubri district while cattle smuggler were trying to smuggle out the animals to Bangladesh on Tuesday. BSF officials said a special operation team of the force from its Bansichar border out-post seized the cattle worth Rs several lakhs at Salapara area under Sukhachar police station in Dhubri district along Indo-Bangla border. The officials said BSF troops from the Assam and Meghalaya Frontier have intensified operations along the intertiol border to check illegal infiltration and other trans-border crime. It may be mentioned that cattle smuggling through the porous India-Bangladesh border in the Dhubri district is on the rise during the last few months .
