SHLLONG: Showing alertness to prevent any infiltration on the International Border the BSF troops deployed at Dona, East Jaintia Hills (Meghalaya) in Tuesday apprehended one Bangladeshi national on the zero line. Having observed some suspected movement near the unfenced area on International boundary, the BSF party encircled the suspected area and apprehended one BD national who was trying to exfiltrate into Bangladesh.

The apprehended person’s name is Abdul Latif Halder. In another incident, on 11th August 2018 BSF troops deployed at Gasuapara, South Garo Hills (Meghalaya) apprehended one Bangladeshi national on the zero line. Having observed some suspected movement near the fenced area on International boundary, the BSF party challenged and apprehended one Bangladeshi national namely Taufiq Hussain Bhuiyan . During questioning, he revealed that he is a graduate in Homeopath Pharmacy and got married in the year 2012 at home village Nayanagar(Bangladesh), but after one year, got divorced and he wanted to settle in India at any cost.

He met two Bangladeshi cattle smugglers who promised help him in settling in India but when they were chased/challenged by alert BSF troops near zero line of International border they fled away toward Bangladesh.

The BSF has stepped up its special drive against the illegal intruders and has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent nefarious design of trans-border criminals to maintain tranquility in bordering areas of Meghalaya state.
