BSNL assures trouble-free telecom service in Aruchal

Itagar, March 13: In a bid to address the network connectivity in remote areas of East Kameng and the state as a whole, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) authority on Thursday assured trouble-free service starting this July.

The information surfaced when it announced the introduction of additiol five Base Transceiver Stations to cater to growing demands of BSNL consumers.

NE-I and NE-II Circle Dimapur and Shillong chief general mager (Telecom) D P Singh and T Durga Prasad, who are on a whirlwind tour in Aruchal Pradesh, made this assurance to a delegation of East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) when it called on the BSNL authorities at its Itagar office here this morning.

The meeting was facilitated by superintendent engineer (E) BSNL Shillong Mara Kocho who accompanied the CGMs on Aruchal tour to access the problem of media connectivity.

The 5-member EKSWCO delegation led by chairman Khya Safar Pao and general secretary Nikam Tallang called on CGMs and pressed for launching of 3G service, activation of BTS in Chayangtajo, Pakke Kessang, Rang, Loffa, Fengche, Fachang, Nyari Welly Model Village and erection of a tower at Pampoli besides requesting for improvement of BSNL service in Ba.

The CGMs, responding to the memorandum, said most of the points have already been included in BSNL’s action plan and told the delegates to wait till July for improved connectivity including 3G service with the commissioning of five BTS.

General mager Dilip Siram said with the commissioning of Microwave Tower at Lumdung, the customers can avail 3G facilities in Seppa Township. The microwave tower would not only increase the capacity manifold - thereby improving the mobile phone service - but would also facilitate high-speed internet connection via Wi-Max. The microwave tower would be linked to the one in Bomdila, West Kameng. Tungri Effa, Member, Telephone Advisory Committee, Aruchal Pradesh and DGM Arung Siram also attended the meeting besides other officials. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today assured to improve better service in East Kameng district in particular, the state as whole.
