Bureau of Investigation of (Economic Offences) Arrests Tainted Deputy Ranger

GUWAHATI, Aug 21: The BI(EO) {Bureau of Investigation of (Economic Offences)} arrested Golaghat deputy ranger Umesh Chanda Dutta from near ISBT in Guwahati on Tuesday. Dutta is an accused in the Doigrung Sand Mahal scam, and he had been absconding since April this year. With his arrest, as many as nine persons have been arrested in the scam so far. The other accused in the scam still absconding is Golaghat ACF Prafulla Chandra Lahkar.
