Candle light march in Silchar

Silchar, June 17: The residents of the town organized a candle march, last night. The march was organized in memory of those unfortute passengers who lost their lives on Tuesday night at around 10 pm near the famous Durga temple of Sopur village. The incident has left people wondering at God’s unique ways of working. Eminent persolities, general people and people from various walks of life participated in the candle march, organized by All India DSO.  After marching across the town, they lit up the candles in front of the bust of Khudiram Bose, at Court Road. Persons who have attended the march choked, as they could not assemble suitable words for describing the incident. After lighting candle, Debarati Bhattacharjee, an MA student of English, spoke to The Sentinel and said, “My parents were planning to go the Guwahati. But this incident has scared us.” There is indeed a sense of fear among the people who are planning to move out from this town. Sopur has become cursed and people’s reactions reflect the same.
