Shillong, Jan 19: The Parish Pastoral Council of the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians has clarified that it has never asked for assistance from the Government for giving the Mary Help of Christians Church at Laitumkhrah a facelift.
“The ongoing overhauling of the Cathedral is being carried out solely through generous contributions from the faithful,” general secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, Barbas Nongbah, said on Friday.
Nongbah said that the Parish Pastoral Council of the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians met after certain reports in the press creating misunderstanding and confusion among the faithful.
