CBI arrests insurance company mager for graft

JOYSAGAR, March 31: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the mager of an insurance company from Sivasagar town on Saturday. The mager of New India Insurance Co. Ltd, Sivasagar Branch, Debabrat Rakhik was arrested from his office in KPM Chariali of Sivasagar. Sources revealed that Rakhik was arrested red- handed while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from a businessman of Sivasagar for releasing his insurance money.

A Traveller bus bearing regd. no- As-04-AC-7071 owned by businessman Parikhit Baruah met with an accident few months ago. When Parikhit went to get his insurance amount of Rs 1.69 lakh from the NIICPL, Sivasagar Branch after following all the legal process, the mager allegedly demanded a commission from the businessman. Parikhit filed a complaint against the mager and following this, the CBI team arrested the accused from his office room with Rs 10,000 cash which he received from Parikhit.
