CCTVs, Public Announcement System inaugurated in Roing

A CORRESPONDENT

ROING: Following the opening of the Bhupen Hazarika Bridge, the longest bridge in India, the tourist inflow in the lower Dibang Valley district has increased resulting in increasing accident reports and crime.

So in order to supplement a safe and friendly atmosphere, a Police Beat House equipped with CCTVs and Public Announcement System (PAS) was inaugurated in the heart of Roing Township by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Mukut Mithi on Wednesday last.

The District Police Tourist Unit, which is primarily responsible to facilitate and extend its support to tourists in need, will function from this Police Beat House.

The CCTVs which have been installed in the town including vulnerable areas will be monitored through this Beat House. After the recent unfaithful fire inferno in Roing, a need for PAS in the town arose to alert the public in times of natural calamities and disasters.
